Saffron and Cardamom Suji Cookies

Ingredients A
250gm plain flour
1 tsp baking powder

1 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp cardamom essence (buy from indian grocery shop)

Ingredients B
125gm icing sugar
a pinch of salt
200gm- 220gm ghee , melted and cooled

Ingredients C
4 to 5 strands of saffron
1 tbsp fresh milk

You can use chocolate rice / pistachios/almonds/cherries 

Soak saffron in milk and keep aside for at least 20mins.
In a bowl, add in sifted ingredients A. Then add in icing sugar and salt. Mix well until all ingredients are combined. Then slowly add in melted ghee and combine the dry ingredients. In between pour in saffron milk and mix well. There is no need to use all the melted ghee, use enough to make the ingredients into a dough. Grease a pan, and make small round balls. Flatten it slightly. The cookies will not expand that much. Decorate as per personal preference. Bake in a preheat oven 150C for 15 to 20mins depending on the size of your cookies. Leave to cool before storing in an air tight container.
