150gm aval/beaten rice
40gm coated green peas
50gm cashew nuts
salt to taste
20gm curry leaves
6 dried chillies
2 tsp cumin seeds
Heat 3 cups oil, make sure the oil is nicely hot so that when u put in beaten rice, it will puff up immediately. Dish out the fried aval on a kitchen towel to absorb excess oil. Then fry cashewnuts and dish out as well.
Pound the dry roasted ingredients coarsely.
In a bowl, combine aval, cashews and green peas. Mix in pounded ingredients and add salt to taste.
You can mix in some fried curry leaves and dried chillies for presentation purpose. Once cool, store in air tight container.
Note: Add some knotted screwpine leaves while heating oil and discard once it is nicely hot. This will make sure the snacks you prepare lasts longer without any smell.
