Rose Lemonade

Something really refreshing and cool during a hot day or after a spicy meal.



Ingredients
For the jelly
50gm wet agar-agar stripes (squeeze out the water)
300ml water
3 tbsp sugar(you can less if you like)
1 tsp rose essence

For Lemonade
125ml lemon juice plus a bit of water (1 large lemon)
200ml ice water
150ml water
50gm sugar
1 tsp honey
A few drops of rose essence
Ice cubes



Method

For the jelly: Heat the agar-agar stripes with 300ml water.Once the agar agar has dissloved, add in sugar and rose essence.Once thicken slightly ,sieve the mixture in a square pan and leave to set.

For the lemonade: In low fire heat 150ml water with 50gm sugar until sugar dissolved. Leave to cool slightly.Mix in lemon juice with ice water. Pour in the sugar syrup into the lemon juice.Stir in a few drops of rose essence and honey.The amount of honey depends on the amount of sweetness you want.Taste the lemonade and adjust the sweetness as per liking.

To serve:Cut the jellies in small cubes.Add ¾ - 1 tbsp of jellies in serving glass.Pour in lemonade and add in ice cubes. Serve cold. If preferred you can make ice cubes by mixing in some lemon juice to retain the lemonade taste.

Note: The lemonade serves 4 while the jellies serve up to more then 10 servings.
