Spicy Hotdog Bun

Baking bread or buns have not been a regular thing with me. The last I baked a bun was more then a decade ago !! It was a fruit bun which came out soft and one to be proud of since it was my first attempt. After that I just let go on making breads nor buns.
Recently I came across bread flour in Cold Storage,Melaka. Got one and thought 0f having a go with some bread making ! Came across a hotdog bun recipe and tried it out.
Came out quiet well, soft and tasty.Sharing the recipe with all of you.

Sweet Bun Dough
500gm high protein flour/bread flour
95gm sugar
1 tsp salt
14gm instant yeast
50gm margarine
45gm shortening
2 tsp condensed milk
1 egg (A)
230gm water

Add all the ingredients into mixing bowl except water.Slow down food processor speed and pour water slowly, beat for 1 min.
Change to medium speed and beat for 7 to 8 mins.
Remove dough and leave to rest for 20mins.Cover the dough.
Stretched the dough and fold over, cover in a big bowl and rest for another 15mins.
Repeat again the folding of the dough and rest the dough for another 5mins.

For the hotdog bun :
240gm sweet bun dough
Hot dog sausages
Cinnamon powder
Curry powder
Mayonnaise
Chopped spring onions
Evaporated milk
Baking tray(greased)

Divide 240gm sweet dough into 4 portion or 6ogms each. Shape into rounds and leave to rest for 5 mins.

Flatten the dough into long shape.Place a piece of hot dog in the middle of the dough.

Cut four to five lines on the right and left side of the dough.

Fold the left part to the right and the right part to the left side of the dough to make plaited pattern.

Place the dough onto a greased baking tray.Leave to rest for 35mins or till double in size.

Brush with evaporated milk.Sieve some curry powder and cinnamon powder on top of the bun.Pipe mayonnaise on top of the bun too. Finally sprinkle some chopped spring onions onto it.
Bake at 190c for 10-13mins or till golden brown. The bun taste the best once cooled down .
